State-of-the-Art Filtration Cartridge

The Eternity is the obvious choice for those who demand the best. Compare the Eternity to its competition. Only the Eternity's housing is made with 316L stainless steel, comes with a 100 year warranty, and is hand polished to a mirror finish. And only the Eternity's filter cartridge embodies the incomparable, new "cutting edge" technology that we call "Super-Synergism."

What Inspired Us to Create the World's Finest Water Filter?
We were dissatisfied with all of the water filters on the market. Each one had sacrificed quality for profit. Our goal, simply stated, was to create the "Rolls Royce" of the industry, a product head and shoulders above the competition. We wanted to provide you, the consumer, with the highest quality drinking water possible.

Consider the Following Facts About Water Filters Now On the Market
Almost all water filters are made from plastic, because it is a much cheaper than stainless steel. But plastic, due to manufacturing variables and it's nature, is an unreliable and inconsistent material that tends to grow weak and brittle over time. Consequently, almost every plastic filter will eventually split, crack, rupture, or even blow up. Although the most functional and aesthetically pleasing way to install a water filter is underneath the sink, plastic filters are incapable, over time, of withstanding the constant under-sink water pressure. (It is important to note here that every under-sink filter is linked to the household water supply and is thereby subject to constant and potentially intense pressure fluctuations.) We have repeatedly met people who came home from work only to find that their under-sink plastic water filter had leaked or ruptured, causing extensive flooding and thousands of dollars worth of damage.

Comparison Chart

Only a couple of our competitors manufacture water filters housed in stainless steel. However, unlike the Eternity housing, which is guaranteed for 100 years, theirs are warrantied for only 10 years. Perhaps this is because only the Eternity, including faucet, fittings, and connectors, is made with super heavy-duty, highest grade 316L stainless steel.

How about ease of service? Many plastic water filters are glued or welded together which makes it impossible to change the filtering material. Most others have threaded tops that often leak, won't go on tight, or are a struggle to remove. The Eternity, on the other hand, has a super-strong, quick-release stainless steel clamp that holds the housing together securely and yet is easily removed for simple and quick servicing.

Eternity Makes Sense
Doesn't it make sense to buy an Eternity water filter? Just think about it . . . ease of service, no fears of expensive flood damage (when properly installed), and the tremendous savings of not having to buy a whole new water filter system every few years. Furthermore, as we describe later in the brochure, only Eternity has the revolutionary new filter cartridge based on the "cutting edge" technology of "Super-Synergism."

Are there alternatives to the Eternity that are worth considering? First, we will consider bottled water, a choice that many poorly informed people make. Then, we will consider the other methods of water filtration available.

The following water filters use unsatisfactory methods to treat water:

1. Charcoal Filters (G.A.C., Granular-Activated Carbon, or Loose Carbon Granule Filters) - Charcoal filters basically just dechlorinate water. They do not remove pathogens, asbestos, and minute particulate matter from drinking water. Most contaminants pass inbetween the carbon granules, through the filter, and into the drinking water. Charcoal filters are dangerous because they can make unsafe water look and taste potable; they can remove the bad taste and bad odors from the water without actually removing the contaminants. Moreover, these filters actually promote bacterial growth - the porous surface of loose carbon serves as a perfect breeding ground for bacteria that is then released into the drinking water. Consumer's Research and the U.S. Public Health Service have condemned them as unsafe.

2. Silver-Charcoal Filters (Bacteriostatic Filters) - Silver-charcoal filters are essentially the same as charcoal filters, with all of the same problems. The only difference is the addition of silver nitrate, a so-called "anti-bacterial agent." However, the presence of silver nitrate does not enable the filter to remove bacteria and contaminants. (Instead, it allows minute amounts of silver nitrate, a toxic substance, to be released into the drinking water.) The Federal Trade Commission has denied their effectiveness in controlling bacterial qrowth.

3. Water Softeners - Water softeners do not filter or purify water. Softeners condition water by exchanging sodium for calcium or magnesium ions. They are unsuitable for treating drinking water and, in fact, by "salting" the water, actually transform it into a greater health danger than tap water.

4. Distillers - Distillers are expensive to buy ($400 - $2,000), expensive to operate (approximately $300 per year, per person, for electricity) and produce only 1 to 5 gallons of water per day. In addition, they are large, heavy, cumbersome, and difficult to clean (even requiring the use of toxic chemicals to remove mineral deposits).

Distilled water is made in distillers that boil water and recondense the vapor. In the process, some of the original water is lost but certain volatile organic chemicals are not, thereby increasing the concentration of certain carcinogenic volatile organics in the distilled water.

Moreover, some of these toxic volatile organics escape from the distiller into the household atmosphere, polluting the air in the home. Through breathing this air, one absorbs more contaminants than one would from drinking the pre-distilled water.

Distilled water also presents a potential bacterial problem. It may contain harmful bacteria for either of two reasons: 1 ) The distillation process temperature is not high enough or sustained long enough to kill bacteria, or 2 ) The distilled water is made on a "batch" basis, sits warm and stagnant, and is thereby subject to recontamination.

The most dangerous thing about the distillation process is that it removes dissolved minerals and trace elements essential to good health. Furthermore, distilled water is naturally "hungry", actually leaching minerals from the body. (Scientific tests corroborate that distilled water is 'Ihungry''. For example, when distilled water is run through a copper pipe, it absorbs a significant amount of copper from the pipe.) As a result, heavy or prolonged use of distilled water can result in numerous health problems, including damage to bones, joints, and teeth. Consumer's Research has stated: "Researchers have established a link between the mineral content of drinking water and the health of consumers. Soft water (distilled water is the softest water one can obtain) has been found not to be good for the health of teeth, bones, heart, and blood vessels. Long, continued drinking of distilled water can cause deterioration of the teeth and loss of calcium, phosphorus, and other elements from the bones. Distilled water should be regarded as a liquid to be consumed in emergency situations only."

5. Reverse Osmosis - Although reverse osmosis is a very popular water filtering method, we usually recommend it only if an individual has over 750 parts-per-million of minerals in his water. Someone with a preponderance of "bad" minerals in his water--although this is uncommon--might also benefit from reverse osmosis.
